Date 28-05-2000
Club: Purmerend
Track condition: Heavy rain and stormy weather
Track surface: Artificial grass (wet)
Temperature 17 degrees Celsius
Contenders: 15
Storms and heavy shower rain was blessing the Dutch country. The track was wet but drivable thanks to the artificial grass. Only 15 contenders but all very dedicated to drive the whole day despite the weather..
After 4 qualification rounds the weather started to turn very bad.
Just before the start of the first 1/2 final a huge tree collapsed beside the place where a
marshal should have done his duty
during racing.
The race was immediately canceled and all result achieved by
qualification were counted as the final result for the race day.
Placing after 4 times 5 minutes qualification rounds where best two are added to count for final placing

Rene van Schaijk was doing his first race with
his new Mugen MBX-4RR and was very pleased with the performance.
You would suspect that in dry conditions the cars would be
quicker! Nothing of that at all. In the rain they achieved almost
the same lap times as in dry weather with Hobao min pin tires.
This is a big plus for racing on artificial grass.
